Links from pages AI actually cites.

We build links and mentions on the sources AI systems actually use in your category — not on random domains.

What exactly do we do?

GEO link building means: first we check which domains ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google cite in your category. Then we build links and mentions exactly there. Domain rating alone no longer decides — citation frequency does.

01

Buyer questions

Which domains does AI cite in our category?
On which of them are we completely missing?
Which competitor links carry their mentions?

02

Evidence

Citation source analysis per AI system
Gap list: sources with competitors, without you
Prioritised link building plan

03

Outcome

You know which sources shape your category, where you are missing and which links get built first.

Why it matters

A link is not an end in itself. It is evidence — and it only works where AI and Google actually read it.

Majority

third-party sources

The majority of AI citations come from earned media and third-party sources, not from your own website (multiple analyses 2025/2026).

38%

top-10 overlap

Only 38% of pages cited in AI Overviews still rank in Google's top 10 (Ahrefs, early 2026). Classic link metrics explain citations less and less.

nofollow too

counts

No major AI crawler documents nofollow handling. A cited source works — regardless of the link attribute.

per system

own sources

ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google cite different domains. We measure separately instead of guessing.

Link building by catalogue price.

The link market sells by domain rating: DR 60 costs X, DR 70 costs Y. Whether the domain is ever cited in your category is not on the invoice. We have reviewed link plans from other agencies whose most expensive placements never appeared in a single AI answer of the category.

The link report grows, the mentions do not.
Expensive placements on pages with no topical relevance.
Competitors get cited — through sources you do not know.
Nofollow links get rejected wholesale although the source is cited.

Citation frequency beats domain rating.

We invert the selection: the AI answers of your category determine the targets, not the link market. Every source cited there is a candidate — even if it is small, even if the link is nofollow. A mention on a page Perplexity cites weekly beats a paid link on a domain that never appears in an answer.

Result

AI should not just find your company. AI should understand when your offer fits.

From citation to link.

Four steps, measured by mentions instead of link count.

01

Check sources

Which domains does AI cite in your category? We measure per system.

02

Find gaps

Where do competitors stand, where are you missing?

03

Earn the spot

Pitch, contribution, data or listing — whatever the source accepts.

04

Measure impact

Live, crawlable, linked — and does the source now appear with you?

What work does it involve?

Citation source analysis for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google
Competitor link profiles matched against AI citations
Outreach and placement on prioritised sources
Directory and profile work where categories require it
Monthly measurement of links and mentions

What do you receive?

Citation source list per AI system
Prioritised link building plan
Placements with status log
Mention measurement before and after

Who is this for?

You have content or data a source can cite.
You want source work instead of a link catalogue.
You accept that good placements take weeks.

Who is this not for?

You only want a report and no implementation.
You expect a guaranteed mention in one exact AI answer.
Your offer is not clear enough to recommend yet.

When is this service strongest?

Competitors get cited and you want to know through what.
Your current link building does not move AI mentions.
You want a link budget tied to impact.

What is this often confused with?

Link building agency

Sells links by domain rating. We pick sources by citation frequency in your category.

Digital PR

Digital PR builds stories and press. GEO link building builds the link and source layer underneath. Both interlock.

Doing it yourself

Works — if you measure per system which sources get cited. That measurement is the hard part.

What does it require?

Start with citation source analysis and gap list.
Building runs monthly, source by source.
Impact is measured in mentions, not link count.

What do people ask most?

What makes GEO link building different from normal link building?

Target selection. Normal link building buys by domain rating. We build where AI systems actually cite your category — measured per system before the first pitch goes out.

Do nofollow links count?

For AI answers there is no documented downside — no major AI crawler describes nofollow handling. For Google they have been a hint rather than a directive since 2019. We never reject a cited source because of the attribute.

Do you buy links?

We do not pay for hidden paid links. Where placements are legitimately commercial — directories, marked advertorials — we decide by citation frequency and tell you the cost up front.

How fast does link building affect AI mentions?

Perplexity reacts fastest because it searches live. ChatGPT and Google take weeks to months depending on crawl rhythm. That is why we measure monthly.

Do we need digital PR as well?

Often yes. Digital PR creates the stories strong sources pick up voluntarily. GEO link building turns them into the right links on the right domains. We offer both, bookable separately.

Should this service come first for you?

One call is enough to see the rough direction: website, content, sources, product data or measurement.
